Founded in 1895 and situated on 40 picturesque acres within close proximity to Stanford University, Sequoia High School is an accomplished, fully accredited comprehensive public high school and a California Distinguished School (an honor reserved for a small number of California’s “exemplary and inspiring” public schools).

Sequoia High is renowned for its successful personalized learning communities and its International Baccalaureate program, which exceeds national and international pass rates and has been recognized for its ethnic diversity.  Sequoia also offers a dynamic portfolio of visual and performing arts programs; over 20 interscholastic sports teams and 50 clubs open to all students; and myriad opportunities to participate in community service projects and student leadership.

Local community support of a series of bonds has made possible many recent and upcoming enhancements to facilities and technology at Sequoia High.  The school campus is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and its 600-seat Carrington Hall theater and performing arts center has been restored to its original glory.
